Work slowed after carpal tunnel surgery and dad here for a visit. Spare front end did get torn down with my son's help. That in itself is a learning experience! Need to pick up '65 MGB pull handle from the local boneyard this Saturday. It has lots of cool parts left on it. Then I'll have 3 front ends to sort through and hopefully make one good one. Tracing 3 spare leads under dash and in engine bay led to another 2 days of sorting. I now have the gauge lights wired properly and NOT GETTING power source from map light.(God that super stupid PO) Now my porcelin rehostat works too, as well as the clock and all gauge lights. I have my own heater valve assembly all set to go and panels cut for the C Post. Now I started to tear down the spare front end and found one of the spring pans was rotted. Ive been slogging away on the wiring and ready to tape it up this weekend , then to start the BIG spare front end overhaul. In the meantime, I am working on a ball valve set-up for the heater valve and made the new cable too long...ugh....it's really hard to get the control-knobs off even after depressing the tiny pin, so I might try to shorten the engine end of the cable but I don't know how to do a clean cut on it. Well,3/4 of the bay is cleaned and painted. Started to bundle up the wiring and the horns are in and they work!! Got hardboard for C Pillar panels ready for cutting,have foam underlay and material. Engine shroud is de-waxoyled and rust converter is drying for 3 days waiting for final coat of paint.
